Italy in Image and Imagination: A Literary and Cinematic Tour of Naples, Molise, and the Human Story

In the footsteps of Ferrante, Sorrentino, Maradona, Castellitto, D’Annunzio, and more, discover a Naples both imagined and real, and explore the little-known and authentic Italian region of Molise.

Compare the present-day and historical southern Italy of Naples and Molise with its cultural representations in media (films, series, books, graphic novels or murals), focusing on discovering an authentic Italy hidden by stereotypes, clichés, and tourism, as well as enjoying the sustainable and local culinary specialties of authentic Italian cuisine. And analyze the complexity of the human story as you learn to start bridging the differences inherent in our common humanity.

As part of a small and intimate group of active and curious adults, you will meet journalists, international artists, photographers, local enthusiasts, directors, and actors; participate in a compact and transformative Intercultural Citizenship course that includes crucial pre-departure preparation and post-return consolidation and support; and focus on practical and relevant Italian language through contextual mini-lessons.
